Ha! I just noticed for the first time that I'm not the only one checking out this brindle greyhound. Anyhoo, I went to a Meet'n'Greet for Greyhound Pets of America Salt Lake chapter a while back. I was like a kid in a candy store. My first (and last) dog as a child was part greyhound. "Cookie" was puppy, greyhound, whippet and springer spaniel all in one. She jumped (easily 5 feet vertical), ran (kept up with 25 mph cars on our street), and got herself lost (sight hounds have a hard time "sniffing" their way back home). So when the animal control officer started showing up regularly with our dog, we knew she needed a more suitable home. She moved out into the country where she lived on a sheep farm. I was in first grade and missed her so badly, I would sit, looking at her picture, and cry. Okay, maybe I only did that once, but it might help explain why I still hope that one (or more) of these dogs is in my future even though I currently do not want a dog in my home. The greyhound in this photo looks like Cookie's older brother, who was named (or we nick-named) "Tiger Butter." And with this dog looking for her forever home, I say, "Go ahead--Show 'em you're a tiger! Show 'em what you can do!"
Dogs who need forever homes and dogs wandering in my neighborhood are featured here to help them get home. Some dogs cross my path that just capture my fancy.
