First time through northern Nevada en route to Portland, and we came upon a funny sight. The teeny red car (late 80's Ford Fiesta, according to my husband), came tootling down Easy Street and into the gas station, which appeared to double as a civic center for the town of Wells, Nevada. Along for the ride in this roller skate-of-a-car were two giant dogs. Our civically-minded Wells resident parked outside the "gas station," leaving the windows slightly cracked, and called out, "They look damn silly don't they?!" I had to agree. Each Alaskan Malamute husky was the size of a fluffy pony, the larger in the backseat and the more "petite" female occupying the passenger seat. It turns out she was alpha and became grouchy when I tried to pet her and the overstuffed, hulking male at the same time. He was a rescue who had been found as a puppy with his collar growing into his neck. Now he had a whole backseat to himself and two women to keep him in line. Yes, it was indeed Easy Street.
